The book is awesome! My daughter loves the story because she herself is FANCY. But the boa and crown are poorly constructed and really not worth the extra cost. Just buy the book and then you can supplement the story with a boa and crown of your choice!

The book is the BEST! We love the story. My toddler loves the crown and boa, but they weren't quite what I was expecting. The crown is made of paper, and the boa is very small and cheaply made. I don't think either will last long, but the price was right and my daughter loves them both!

Purchased for my 4 yr. old niece, this is a keeper. It's the first of the Fancy Nancy series. Nancy turns a seemingly ordinary items into an ultra fabulous (in the true sense of the word) statement. I like her because she not only exposes children to a better vocabulary (her 'fancy' words) but she also does not give two hoots whether people think she is silly or gaudy or...whatever. She enjoys to the fullest being the type of girl she is meant to be. If others, even her own family sometimes do not understand her, she just laughs gaily and includes them in her world anyway. What a great book! You cannot go wrong with this series.
BTW, I pd for the gift wrap option as this was being mailed to another state. It was wrapped in pastel blue with a nice flat ribbon bow, then concealed in a brown box for shipping. Having never tried the gw option, I was pleased with the service & recommend it as well.

My daughter loves the boa and the crown however she does not seem to love the book as much. She seems to like Kevin Henkes books better.

I first ran across Fancy Nancy at my nephew's Scholastic Book sale. Nancy reminds me of so many princesses I know--young and old. I liked how they used fancy words and gave the regular word too--a great way to introduce French at a young age. I loved that her parents were so down to earth and normal, but Fancy Nancy is so "Fancy".

I bought this for my bosses daughter, because she's a posh princess. I wished the tiara was a little more sturdy, but I LOVED the book!

For Little Girls, this is a great book and this set with the Feather Boa for them to wear is a real extra.
