4.0 out of 5 stars Sharon's review
I thought the paper doll book was adorable, however I was surprised that one had to cut out the dresses as opposed to punching them out. Of course, Mom had to do this for my granddaughter who is 4.....then SHE accessorized! They were a sort of colorforms, easy to remove and put on the dolls.

1.0 out of 5 stars Do not buy.
This book was the biggest Fancy Nancy disappointment! All the clothes and the two dolls have to be cut out with scissors. The cutting is tedious and not easy for my girls (ages 4 and 7). So I had to do the cutting. Then the dolls are on flimsy paper and the heads are already tearing off, after getting this yesterday. The clothes are on even more flimsy paper. I...

3.0 out of 5 stars Must have scissors!, February 14, 2010
This review is from: Fancy Nancy's Perfectly Posh Paper Doll Book (Paperback)
I would never have bought this book had I known the clothes were not perforated. Each outfit, and there are a ton, must be carefully and intricately cut out with scissors. It is the parent who is going to wind up doing this. Be prepared to spend hours. I didn't even know they made paper doll books like that anymore. My daughter has had several paper doll books and we have never had one that required scissors. That said, if you don't mind having to cut everything out, the paper dolls and the outfits are absolutely adorable.

1.0 out of 5 stars Just Awful, March 15, 2011

My daughter received this set as a gift. It's cute, but it has flaws that make it frustrating and pointless. First of all, the clothes all have to be cut out. Be prepared to be at this task for a good while, as there are 31 individual clothing items. Every paper doll set I have used up to this point, the clothes were perforated. It's just ridiculous! Next, the clothes do not fit properly. No matter what we did, we could not get the clothes to go on the way they should, nor stay on. They look silly, and they'll fall off with the slightest movement.

While the set looks good on the surface, it is poorly produced. Save your money, and save yourself the hassle.

1.0 out of 5 stars Perfectly Horrible - Do not buy!, December 19, 2010

In one word, Frustrating. The paper dolls are too flimsy. The clothes need to be cut with scissors by a capable adult (Mom who does hand crafts barely qualified). The stickers edges stick to the pages, and then rip. If you love your kid, and value your time, skip this one.

1.0 out of 5 stars kind of a big pain, December 17, 2010

The outfits were difficult for ME to cut these out and I'm 30 years old. My 5 yr old wouldn't stand a chance. I get that maybe it's a parent-child activity, but it's way too heavy on the parent side.

I notice that the only 5 star review so far has been by someone who didn't actually try the product, she's just hoping it will be a fun activity. They are quite pretty to look at, I'll give them that.

1.0 out of 5 stars A LOT of work for Mom!, April 24, 2011
This review is from: Fancy Nancy's Perfectly Posh Paper Doll Book (Paperback)
My daughters (4 and 6 years old) LOVE paper dolls. They play with them forever and I love to get them for them whenever I see some cute ones. However, we opened up the Fancy Nancy Paper Dolls to find out that all the ruffled dresses had to be cut by hand with scissors. My daughters can cut, but didn't want to mess up the cute clothes, I'm I had to hand cut every single piece of clothing. My hands are sore and it took FOREVER! And, I still have more to go.

On top of that, the accessories (shoes, hair bands, etc...) are stickers. Some stick over the side of the doll, causing the doll to stick to things and pick up hair and other wonderful things. The stickers are suppose to come off, but my daughters keep accidentally ripping them when trying to peel them off, so I have to do that as well. On top of that, after they pick up hair and such, they aren't reusable.

I would never have bought these if I knew how much work they were going to be for me. Save your money or buy the Barbie I Can Be Paper Dolls... they have tons of accessories and clothes that are easily punched out by kids and put on the dolls by the kids!

I'd never recommend these to anyone.

My daughter is a huge Fancy Nancy fan. She adores anything seemingly fancy. And I love that she loves Fancy Nancy, since Fancy Nancy is increasing her vocabulary exponentially. This book has two "paper dolls" on the back cover that you "pop" out. Then, you must carefully cut the outfits out to fold onto the paper dolls. She loved playing with it, but it was really a one time activity. We tried saving it in an envelope for future play time, but manipulated paper only goes so far. She had a fabulous time with her paper dolls, but I was a little sad to see them so easily used and gone.

4.0 out of 5 stars Review, July 30, 2010
This review is from: Fancy Nancy's Perfectly Posh Paper Doll Book (Paperback)
I am happy with the book but unhappy with the packaging and how the books were sent. They were put in a plastic cover but one side was open and the books had no other packaging to support them so the edges of the smaller books were damaged as they slid around in the box.

Perfect for table favors for the Annual Mad Hatters Tea for women and girls of the Niantic Baptist Church. I am co-chair of the event. Teas can get a bit "slow" for young ones. I hope this activity will be a success.
