5.0 out of 5 stars A great roadmap to the human body, January 23, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Fandex Family Field Guides: The Body (Cards)
This is one of those rare books that's really a joy to read and educational--readers will come away with a serious understanding of how their bodies work, with phrases and images that will long stay with them. Dr. Rudin spices the well-written text with humor and wit. This reader will forever think of blood as "the body's great ambassador of health and well-being, connecting with every cell." The book is also unusual in its ability to speak to its intended pre-teen and teen-age audience in a voice that they'll appreciate, that never talks down to them but rather builds on ideas they already have. Parents will also find the book very appealing, and will often find new understandings; they too will appreciate Dr. Rudin's light touch, his everpresent wit. The book's fan format makes for easy reference, and the illustrations and sidebars will help readers to fully understand the anatomy concepts and their implications. It's a great roadmap to our bodies--highly recommended for all who are curious and want to understand and also explain the beauty of our inner workings. Readers will look forward to hearing more from Dr. Rudin.
