Four-star rating.

4-DVD set, (not DVD-R or RW).
All discs played fine on Region 1 DVD player (set advertised as "region-free").
Full-screen, bare-bones menus.

4 movies included:
1) Our Latin Thing
2) Salsa - The Movie
3) Fania All-Stars: Live In Africa
4) Fania All-Stars: Live In Puerto Rico

The video & audio quality is not great, but given the fact the footage is from the 70s, one can't expect much better.
The real value to this set is the historic performances. "Our Latin Thing" & "Salsa - The Movie" are like the latin versions of Woodstock and Wattstax. "Fania All-Stars: Live In Africa" includes some great performance footage of Celia Cruz.

If the movies had been remastered to restore the video & audio quality to optimal, & if the menus were better, & if bonus material was expanded, this would warrant a five-star rating.

Received the DVD's promply, even before schedule delivery date, at a glance DVD packaging looked old, not new as advertised, but I quess you have to consider how old it is and when it was recorded. I was worried that it would'nt work on my player, but it did and I was every happy for that. These videos are Historic Salsa music, and are every hard to find. I wish that they would had come with more bonus material, even a booklet with information, you get 4 plain looking DVD's and until you play them you don't know wish one your playing, number on DVD's don't match the number on cover. Overall the image and sound are not great, again consider the age. I think price could be lower, that's why I didn't give it 5 Stars, but I'am every happy to have them.

Unfortunatelly this is one of the most awful products that I'd ever bought. The image quality is poor and it doesn't include booklet or something like that. If you are a real Fania fan I recommend another alternative.

THE PRICE IS GOOD FOR ALL THE 4 MOVIES , THE PACKAGE NEED SOME HELP NO INFORMATION INSIDE THE DVD AND NO SONGS INFORMATION, BUT IS GOOD COLLECTION
