5.0 out of 5 stars A Heart Warming Tale, November 30, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Fanny (Serendipity) (Paperback)
Fanny is a cat with three legs. Yet despite her handicap she holds her head high and does not allow her handicap to lessen the quality of her life. The other animals on the farm where she lives do not want anything to do with Fanny. This all changed when a little puppy named Ruby came along and they became the best of friends. The other animals soon realized she was just like them in the ways that count the most. This story teaches an invaluable lesson.

5.0 out of 5 stars A good children's book, April 27, 1999

This review is from: Fanny (Serendipity) (Paperback)
Fanny is a farm cat who is missing a leg. The other animals on the farm avoid her, not wanting to embarass her. A good children's book dealing with people with disabilities.

5.0 out of 5 stars The dynamic duo have done it again!, September 28, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Fanny (Serendipity) (Paperback)
This is a fantastic book about a 3 legged cat with the signature moral at the end being that handicap is a state of mind. Of course it's beautifuly illustrated by Robin James. Although the moral deals with the cat's handicap, I really think this one also teaches that it's okay to be curious and that there's a difference between being curious and being rude.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful book!, January 19, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Fanny (Paperback)
This book teaches a moral about students with handicapping conditions and their adaptability. Great for grades 3-5, as well as adults. I bought 2 copies for my daughters, both teachers.
Each of the books in this series, Serendipity, is valuable for the character lessons it teaches. They are also on the Accelerated Reader list, but the tests can be difficult for 3rd grade and below. I plan on buying the complete series for both of my daughters, and my own classroom. They are getting more difficult to find.
