5.0 out of 5 stars Simply exceptional, December 22, 2001

This review is from: 12 Fantasies for Violin Without Bass 1735 (Audio CD)
Rather than focusing on re-recording the "usual", Peter Sheppard has been known to find musical trouvailles of the first order. Here, it is refreshing to see his wild imagination applied on Telemann's rarely heard, but once again brilliant Fantasies for Violin without Bass. Continuing where Gidon Kremer left off, this exceptionally gifted British violinist has produced yet another album of first-rate quality. It, and much of Sheppard's other work, should not be missed in any serious collection.
