Colon was light years ahead musically when this record was released. A gem of lyric beauty, well produced and perfectly executed. Colon borrows the brazilian singer-songwriter tradition and puts a caribbean spin to Chico Buarque and he pulls it off using pan-american rhythms.
Now, this record cannot be compared to alot of the stuff that was coming out around 1981. Doing so may dissapoint you if you are looking for hardcore salsa (like Colon's early work). However, this record is in a different league and infinitely more sophisticated.
This reissue features rare photos and original cover art. It also includes a complete personel listing and a well written essay.
Buy it.

If you've listened to this CD, then you know that his CD titled "Solo" is even better. On "Fantasmas" the first song "Oh Que Sera" is superb and demonstrates his incredible ability to tell stories. As is often the case with Willie's music, the lyrics can be interpreted in more than one way (metaphors)or in a what you see is what you get (face value)literal way. He's definitely my favorite Latin Jazz (salsero) artist and woefully underrated and underappreciated. The best song on Fantasmas is "Toma Mis Manos" which is about death (sung from death's perspective). Enjoy!!!!

Before everyone begins to stone me to death, my reasons for giving this album a thumbs down is simple. There are 3 boleros, and a merengue. However, "Oh Que Sera" is one of my favorite Colon songs ever and "Mi Sueño" is just hair raising for me. "Toma mis Manos" round out the only good songs 3 of 8 and display his ability to create great music not only sound wise, but with meaningful, poetic and touching lyrical content. I actually give this album a 2.5 rating because more than half of the tracks are completely forgettable and I really don't see how this to a 5 star album like "Siembra." You simply cannot rank this one up there with it.

Excellent transaction, and the Product arrived in perfect condictions. The CD is what I expected. It is highly recomended either the product and the seller.
