This review is from: Fantastic Ferrocement (Paperback)
I have a copy of his 1st edition which is 65 pages and I thought it was great with ideas of creativity of a technique that deserves more attention. Takes you from simple steps to start to more complex building projects. If you are interested in ferro-cement it's a great addition to have for referance.Great ideas for free form construction using materials found everywhere, cement, sand, water, rebar, chicken wire an advancing primer before adding more exotic materials as fibers, admixtures, coloring and various reinforcments.well worth the price

I have not had a chance to read through this book entirely but I have looked through and it does have several projects outlined that I will try later on. I think the price is a little high, but in the introduction the author does say that you help fund his ongoing ferrocement projects - namely his residence - and I guess that's a good enough cause. I hope to use this book as a ferrocement primer to make some garden furniture and then perhaps some actual foundation work. This book is quite small and the drawings are all by hand.

I have the 2006 revision copy of 102 pages. I have read it and find myself referring to it often. Peter Harris takes you on a personal journey of how he came to make ferrocement structures. He goes through a cost analysis of materials and time. Then tells you what tools you will need to get it done. He also shows you how you can make your own tools. There are great sections on mixing cement, bending and tying rebar, window installation.

At first I thought that I was being ripped off. The book is a compact paper back and only 93 pages; and after paying $30 for it I had expected a bit more. I started actually reading the book(let) and it is chock full of information. I have yet to try the techniques and not sure that I can get the idea of a ferro-cement house past approval status but it definitely is possible.

Not worth the $30,

I found the book neither bad nor good. It had some useful info in it but many of the things I already knew and I have limited ferrocement experience. It was certainly not worth $30. It's to bad there was no see inside for this book.

This is a great book. It was smaller than I expected but it is packed full of useful information. I looked on the internet for days and didn't find what I needed until I found this book. It is a must read for anyone wanting to craft with Ferro-cement. It will stay in my library for a long time.
