5.0 out of 5 stars A good arcade game
I've been a big fan of these arcade type co-op games for a while now. I played this one back around the time when I first got a Playstation. The good thing about it is the fact that four characters fight at once, regardless of whether or not you have four human players. The CPU controls the other 3 characters. If you're fortunate enough to have a multitap then you're...

I love bad games...I guess it's some twisted kind of fetish. Don't get me wrong, good games are great but bad games are fabulous. And "Fantastic Four" is a bad game. I won't pretend to be well versed in video game history, but from I can tell this game was made relatively early into Playstations career. So what's so bad? The game lacks any amount of polish what so ever. I would love to have heard the conversation when this bosses over at Acclaim took a look at this one. The graphics aren't really bad at all. A bit blocky and rough, but pleasing regardless. The inclusion of the super cool She-Hulk is a definate plus (although she seems tacked on to the project). The controls aren't too bad, a bit unresponsive but still playable. You've got on kick button, one punch button, one for blocking, and one for jumping (more like skipping)...but three separate buttons for throwing? Must be an inside joke.

I shall repeat that the game lacks any sense of fluidity or flow. The designers included a stupid racing games for the loading screen (which really isn't too long at all) that never seems to work the same way twice. And in the middle of the level you find yourself fighting random Marvel Superheroes types (Iceman? Whatever). And let me tell you...She-Hulk is one big mama. She dwarfs every other character in the game...including both the thing and Hulk himself. She's a big girl.

So what's so fun about this bad game? First of all the property is cool...and I have a personal biase towards mindless button masher style fighting games. It's obviously much for fun mashing those buttons with others...but if you feel the need to see a true "bad but oh so good" gem from the PSX vault...go for it.

The good thing about it is the fact that four characters fight at once, regardless of whether or not you have four human players. The CPU controls the other 3 characters. If you're fortunate enough to have a multitap then you're in for some real fun. I played this game with 3 of my friends and enjoyed it a lot.

I recommend this if you're in for some classic co-op superhero fighting. Also I recommend this ONLY if you have more than one person to play with you. It gets boring to quickly if you have to play it alone. I wish I would have bought this game when I had the chance but now I can't find it anywhere. Oh well...

This is the best Marvel four player game. Graphically skilled and control is good. Easy super moves. Best of all, you don't just have four, you have five. counting a special character She-Hulk!
Awesome game!

3.0 out of 5 stars A Decent Game, August 29, 2003

A very decent game for the Playstation. Easy game-play/controlls.
Decent storyline/plot. One Downside I found on the game was an inability to save the game, in order to record my progress.

Overall: It's for Playstation so don't expect much.
