This disc combines two jazz musicians often left off the radar. Ashby creates one of those unique sounds that will fill a void in any collection - whether driving up a foggy mountain pass, or watering plants on a sunny morning, she will pluck at your spine in just the right way. The Mance set included is alive and features one track guaranteed to garner devotion: I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel To Be Free. The recording preserves some of the audience participation and atmosphere at just the right level... Another solid 'Collectibles' re-release.
