4.0 out of 5 stars None of TV Theme's are Original Here but..., January 25, 2012

This review is from: Fantastic TV Themes (Audio CD)
Hi gang, Well I had to check this title out. For its defense it didn't claim anything original in its music. The only licensing it claims is the stills(pictures) from Universal City Studio's used for Battlestar Galactica and Quantum Leap (1991).

The music itself seems to be play/performed by The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. I assume it's the British orchestra based in London but no further credit is offered. They did offer the conductor's name as Daniel Caine (Of The Daniel Caine Orchestra) and musical director, Derek Wadsworth (5 February 1939, Cleckheaton, Yorkshire - Passed on 3 December 2008, in Oxfordshire county, England.

Can anyone really complain about the play of The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra? I think not! And when the composers are some of best around for this type of music; its difficult to critique the likes of David Rose, Jerry Goldsmith, Mike Post, Larson & Phillips (did Knight Rider, BattleStar Galactica, and Buck Rogers in The 25th Century, in this collection).

After a full listen I had wished for a couple of more tracks. They offered 14 tracks and a running time of 41:17 minutes. I've always enjoyed the Fantasy Island and Twilight Zone themes, wish they had been added here.

Anyway pretty good to go as is.
