I AM ON MY WAY OUT THE DOOR TO TELL MY FRIENDS ABOUT THIS CD IT IS THE BEST .

I have really enjoyed listening to this CD. It's what I use as a pick me up on a Saturday morning to get me started for the day. So on my way out the door what better song to play than Fantastic Voyage because that is exactly what it is going to be.

Fantastic Voyage is a Funk Masterpiece! Lakeside really throws down the funk on this album. It has to be one of Lakeside's most essential & polished albums. Can't say enough about this Stellar Funk Release. The members of Lakeside serve up a superb slice of Funk history on this 1980 album. The Lakeside Crew take you on a fantastic voyage to the land of funk and will instantly win you over with their distinguished blend of Soulful Sounds,Infectious Melodies,R&B Harmonies,Dancefloor Grooves,Syncopated Rhythms & Ultimate Funk Jams. Even if you've never listened to Funk Music before,Lakeside is guaranteed to turn you on to this interesting genre. Every track on this album displays Lakeside at their tightest. All the selections on this disc are Right on Time,On the One & Out of Sight! Whether Lakeside is crooning dreamy & unforgettable funk ballads in the vein of the sensitive slow jam,"Say Yes" or grilling up a stanky groove such as on the massively funky title cut or the slamming,smooth funk of "Your Love Is On The One";The guys from Lakeside created a versatile & eclectic catalog of funk gems with this album & many others. Lakeside was indeed a band with Jam Credentials. If it's Classic & Timeless Funk that you crave,then look no further than Lakeside. SAY YES IS THE BEST SLOW JAM I HAVE EVER HEARD. THAT ALONE GIVES THIS CD 3 STARS. THROW IN THE REST OF THE FUNK AND YOU CAN NOT DO ANY BETTER THAN THIS. AGAIN, SAY YES IS THE BEST.

This CD is one that will never grow old or die. I love listening, singing, and dancing to it whether by myself or with others. It is the 'put you in a good mood' type of music. If you don't like them no matter what era of time then you missed the enjoyment and good feeling of grooving with Fantastic Voyage. I love them!! In fact, I'm going to put them on right now. ENJOY!

This cassette was a gift for my aunt because she likes to go walking and doesnt have a portable cd player. The cassette does not play correctly, and is obviously used and damaged. It somewhat works on her larger stereo console, but is still not correct.

Wasted my money goin through a 3rd party Amazon seller.

The 1979 classic Dance/R&B album on Disc. Five stars for this remastered classic!!

This album is enjoyable, from the first song to the last. I can honestly say you won't be disappointed.

..I lived in Dayton when these guys were groovin' in the 70s-80s. They were part of a funk music explosion of top Funksters from the area wich included Slave, Sun, Heatwave, Ohio Players and Zapp. And Bootsy Collins and his brother were from Cincy.

These guys had a fabulous home coming with their Solar record mates in an awesome concert which included the Whispers, Dynasty and Shalamar. They Rocked The Hizzouse. Also they did a knock-out version of "Given in to Love" I know for sure, because I remember the call and response audience sing along. I can't remember too much else, 'cause by then my state, mental and physical had been altered....don't ask.

"Given in to Love" ain't on this CD, but two of their best slo jams, "I Need You" and "Say Yes" (which a phat dude below says may be the best slo jam of all time. I may have a tendency to agree with that..) are here. "Your Love is One the One" is here! And that "slide, slide, slippedy slide" classic everyone loves, the title track, the can't miss party starter "Fantastic Voyage"
is here.

This CD is, in a word, fantastic.

This CD and "Your Wish", are Lakeside's best efforts, and great funk albums from the early 1980's. Besides the title track, "Your Love is On the One" and "Eveready Man" will get any party movin'. (I'm surprised these aren't sampled regularly) You will NOT be disappointed with these jams!
