As one of Gino's fellow countrymen I am always a bit cagey about books on Italian cuisine, but this is an excellent book with some imaginative recipes which should really give you a flavor of Italian cooking at its best. I bought this book because of a write-up I saw on it in the local paper that included his recipe for Mediterranean Vegetables and Eggs in Tomato Sauce. Both my husband and I -- along with several appreciative guests -- have loved each recipe I've tried so far. The Vegetable and Egg dish is wonderful, as is his version of Shepherd's Pie -- Italian Style!
