A change of name from Year's Finest Fantasy to Fantasy Annual it seems, and with it a slight improvement, this one nailing the fantasy benchmark for me, at 3.50.
In the main, Carr seems to go for longer fantasy stories, so the inclusion of the very lame Murphy story is a big surprising and drags the rest of it down. This is balanced somewhat by the outstanding Bryant example. Carr 04 : The Monkey - Stephen King Carr 04 : The Brave Little Toaster - Thomas M. Pangborn Carr 04 : Feesters in the Lake - Bob Leman Carr 04 : Don't Look Back - Pat Murphy Carr 04 : Letters to the Postman - Robert Aickman Getting rid of an evil toy at the bottom of Crystal Lake? Wouldn't be the first location i would chose. Actually, it'd be really close to the bottom.
