Great book! I am glad there is a book like this. It has everything a beginner needs to play and play well. It really is the perfect gift for someone who wants to learn an easy way to play Fantasy Baseball.

The chapters on scoring systems, how I prepare for the draft and who do I start each week are priceless. Those three chapters alone will prevent many (up to 75%) of the rookie mistakes many people make when learning to play fantasy baseball. The checklists are a great tool and I copied some for friends already.

I really think he did a good job keeping it easy and provides a good start to playing fantasy baseball. He also is spot on about needing to go to SLG vs. BA as a scoring measure.

Sam Hendricks has taken the "basics" of fantasy baseball and broken it down into easy to understand chapters that are fun to read. He covers everything from the MLB and FB rules to draft tips and also includes important resources for help. This is a great book to learn how to play fantasy baseball and should be required reading for all the beginners in your league. It's organized in the same format as his other "beginners" book, Fantasy Football Basics: The Ultimate "How-to" Guide for Beginners, so it's easy to follow too!

I bought this book for my son and it is great! It's very helpful and has a lot of useful and practical information in it. Good format and easy to read. I also have his other book, Fantasy Football Basics: The Ultimate "How-to" Guide for Beginners which is just as good. Hendricks hits it out of the park!
