Worth the money - Inspiring,
This review is from: Fantasy! Cartooning Book & Kit (Hardcover)
This book is well worth the price.
Like a good woman, it's easy to read, informative, and great to look at.=] A must add to your reference library - The art is both inspired and inspiring. This is an excellent book on what makes a character drawing come to life. However, this book IS NOT a step-by-step instruction book on how to draw each character between the covers. It does have the gesture drawings for each image etc. but, it's more about analyzing the parts of each drawing that bring the character to life. A look at the essential but, often subtle details that really add excitement to an illustration. I don't think this is a problem as most people interested in this genre/art style already have the basic skills/process figured out. So, if you're a very new beginner buy this book and one more with the step-by-step approach and you'll be on your way to cartooning greatness. Thanks Ben, you made a great product. Now, I'm going to buy your other book on "Action Cartooning". Great stuff.
