I didn't get far into this book before I realized this was an exceptional "how to" book--one written by a true expert who knows not only the game but how to write. It is extremely well-organized, with easy to read and easy to follow instructions. It quickly fills the novice with the basic facts necessary to understand the strategies recommended by the author to be a successful fantasy football player. "Fantasy Football Basics" gives the reader much more than the title suggests. There is a wealth of information about strategies not only for the beginner but for experienced players, including drafting, free agency, trading, and choosing the starting players for each game. This book is a bargain; you won't be disappointed. It will take you far into the fascinating sport of fantasy football.

I read this book because I thought it would give me a few ideas to enhance my rudimentary knowledge of Fantasy Football, following my not too successful initiation in a league this last fall. Wow! It gave me a lot! There are some great strengths in this book: It is written in understandable English, it explains the basics, it doesn't make leaps the reader can't follow, it gives practical strategies for drafting and setting lineups, and the author doesn't talk down to the reader, despite his clearly broad knowledge. This is a must book for a novice to the FF world, but also will be very useful for the gently experienced.

Fantasy football is a fun way to make the Sunday game all the more enticing to watch. "Fantasy Football Basics: The Ultimate "How-To" Guide for Beginners" explains the many details of fantasy football and how to get involved and play well. A knowledge of real football is needed to excel, and Sam Hendricks explains the concept well so that they can get a leg up on their competitors. "Fantasy Football Basics" is a must for anyone who wants to spice up their football fandom.

Really haven't had a chance to use it. Looked it over and found it would be helpful if I actually read it.

this is my first year of FF and I bought Fantasy Football Basics by Sam Hendricks for some help. I was lucky enough to draft first. so far I am 2-0 with a killer team thanks to Sam. I do not live in the USA, I don't know a lot about NFL players, and have never played any Fantasy sport so Sam's book gave me a great start.

I'll post more later in the season but so far I would not hesitate to recommend this book.
