Product Description

Seventeen-year-old Parker Collins learned early in life to trust no
one, including her own family. She lived a desolated life, unfazed by the lack of social interaction. But when she signs on as the
photographer for her school's newspaper, her social skills and
trust are put to the test.

Parker's photographic skills and keen eye doesn't go unnoticed by her schoolmates or popular quarterback, Trent Cummins. And to the dismay of every girl vying for his attention in hopes of becoming his homecoming queen, Trent's attention is fixed solely on Parker. But Parker despises Trent, especially after he dumped her sister for her arch nemesis and newspaper editor, Casey Whitmore.

When an illness lands Parker in the hospital, she begins receiving mysterious notes. And not every love letter stuffed in her
locker is from her secret admirer. Some are hate letters from Trent groupies.

After her locker is defaced, Parker sets a trap to catch the culprit in the act. But she gets more than just incriminating evidence;
she also learns who her secret admirer is, which complicates her
life even more. Now she must make a painstaking decision to either give up her passion for photography and go back to her mundane life, or take action and gain back control. Her decision changes not only her life, but everyone around her; including her family's.

OK. I enjoyed this story in the same way I like Jennifer Echols teen reads: Major Crush (Romantic Comedies (Mass Market)) and The Ex Games (Romantic Comedies), but this book needs a more enticing cover and name. Why is it called fantasy football? It really is not about football, but about a young girl named Parker who was part of the problem of division in her high school because of past hurts and an inability to deal with them properly. Ya know, awkward teenage years when you feel everything so earnestly. This story was more about seeing things another way - like you do with a camera, which is what Parker is looking out of most of the story. It should have been called "Picture This", "What You Don't See" or "Snap Shot, Got you!" Wow, that was fun...."Fantasy Photo", "The Way I See It", "Touch Up" (I kinda like that one since it is like Touch Down in football). Fine, I'll Stop, you get the picture. Ha.

Parker Collins is beautiful with an attitude. She doesn't understand why the boys don't ask her out and discovers from her best friend's boyfriend that is because all the boys are afraid she will freak out on them. She has a difficult home life with a critical mother, an animosity with her sisters and being set in her defensive wont-take-any-crap-from-anyone ways. She no longer wants to behave this way, and begins to give everyone and everything a second chance. It turns out her mother wants a relationship with her, her sisters don't hate her and even her arch nemesis could use some forgiveness and help. Parker learns that a lot of kids going to high school are just as confused and abused as she feels and what it means to be a caring friend to others. To sound cliché, life is not always as it appears to those on the outside of the picture looking in and that many people have to deal with difficult circumstances that they are trying to keep out the public eye. (more Photo analogy. I had no idea it was this prominent in the story before I started writing this review)

So I recommend this kindle story to girls aged 15 and below with the possibility of a new title and cover art (cough, Mrs. LoGalbo, cough) '

Would I/Did I buy it? Yes
Would I read it again? Yes
Would I recommend it to friends? Yes, young girls

Loved this book! August 2, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I wasn't really sure what to expect when I bought this book. I mainly got it because it's a fairly good price and I'm so glad I did because it's an amazing deal!

This book was amazing and has become one of my favorite books of all time. Mainly because I related so much to the main character, Parker. She's a smart-ass, uber confident, doesn't let anyone push her around, and everyone's intimidated by her. I fell in love with her character immediately.

The plot itself was very interesting I would say. I'm not going to go into any detail because I'll probably end up spoiling some of it. There are definitely unexpected twist and turns, especially in the end. There were times where the story was predictable but I loved that aspect about it because it sort of let me, the reader, become involved in the book. I would say however that I thought the author could have explained a few characters' back stories a bit more and delved into their history, but it didn't bother me that much.

Another reason why I loved this book was because it made me literally laugh out loud. There are very rare times that I do that when it comes to books, but I found myself laughing aloud, several times. The humor was great and it was very entertaining.

This book was a page turner for me. I read it in a matter of two hours and finished it at three in the morning! It's such a fantastic book and as an incoming freshman in college, it reminded me about all the fun times and special friends high school was all about. I definitely recommend this book to everyone!

Fun Read! March 27, 2012

Really enjoyable book. I agree with other people's opinion regarding the title of this book needing to change. It gives you the impression that football is a major theme in this book, which it isn't. I would not have downloaded this book to read if I'd only seen the cover art and title. The overall good reviews convinced me to give it a go. I'm glad I did. The main character was awesome! I laughed so many times.
