a very sweet little girl's tape, April 14, 2008
This review is from: A Fantasy Garden Ballet Class II [VHS] (VHS Tape)
The teacher has done a nice job. The video is geared for a very young participant. The songs and movements are very simple for the young dancers. It is very very sweet to see little pink legs, leotards and ballerina hair wraps, prancing and dancing preschool style fashion. The instructor has created cute little songs to accompany the routines...like 'tendu the tulip' so students may also learn the ballet vocabulary.
The production is a non-holywood...real person effort to create another dance resource. The lighting, audio and editing are not satin finished..but the content is noteworthy. If I had a child 3-5 years old...this tape would be a nice resource...as it invites the young viewer to also participate in the movements and dances.
In my humble opinion, this tape is a positive addition to our video archives and libraries as it affords yet another opportunity for our kids to dance and move...better by far than the teletubbies and other commerce-clad kids videos!
This production is not a substitute for ballet class. For preschool and primary grades, here is a sweet gentle, playful introduction to dance and movement to music.
