5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderfully done.
This is a wonderful book. As a beginning scroller, I was not sure if I could handle the cuts and turns. After practice though (I'm on my fifth puzzle now.), I am comfortable doing the most complicated puzzles--even though I still need lots of practice. I would say the book has kept me interested and going on scrolling puzzles, and it won't be collecting dust on my...

Probably way beyond most of us. I plan on just using the outlines and simplifying the inside patterns.

The Petersons have another gem on their hand with this book. All of their books have excellent and well-illustrated directions; this one is no exception. The variety of fantasy creatures is sure to please; adults like these puzzles even more than kids!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book, October 28, 2009

This is a great book, good how to section for getting started. Some of the designs are fairly simple and you can get going right away, others would need a bit of practice. Very good details through out the book. I would recommend this for someone interested in starting to make wood puzzles.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good puzzles for adults, October 26, 2009

The patterns here are slightly more difficult than in the Pattersons other books, although they're still very acheiveable for most intermediate scrollers. Some really stunning patterns, done in beautiful timbers. I would really like to get hold of some of the recommended timbers to try out a few of these- the Australian lancewood used for one of the dragons looked amazing. As with all their books, the patterns range from easy through to difficult, with some of the difficult patterns making really nice gifts for people interested in fantasy creatures, I imagine they would sell well at craft shows if that's what you do. If you do find them a little difficult to cut, they can always be simplified.

An excellent book, well written and easy to follow. It would have cost much more to buy this many patterns seperatly.
