4.0 out of 5 stars Exhilarating - A world of detail

The fantasy art of Josephine Wall is innocent in subject, with a touch of the abstract, and often rich in detail.

I love the artwork, and I can think of multiple stories to go with the pictures. You can look at these for AGES and not get bored.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely gorgeous book...., June 16, 2011

Length:: 0:52 Mins

If someone would ask me who the most talented fantasy artist is in my opinion, I would easily say Josephine Wall. She's one of my favorite fantasy artists because of her complex talent of painting life- like mythical beings and the fact she uses pretty much every color of the rainbow and in between in just one painting. If you have ever blown bubbles as a child and look at the outside of one, you see a rainbow of color and thin veil. All of her paintings look exactly like the outside of a glossy bubble. This is quite an amazing effect although sometimes overwhelming. She's one of the artists I would say is too much when it comes to color. Many artists such as Jessica Galbreth, Linda Ravenscroft and Amy Brown tend to lead toward different shades of the same colors in one painting. However, Josephine Wall just does the whole nine yards and more. This isn't something every artist can pull off. The book itself is a gorgeous presentation. Every page is filled to the brim with artwork and even the background has watermark images of her creations. The pages are glossy and tightly bound. This is easily one book you can look at for hours, even days without grasping the true details of each image. I love art that makes you go back and keep looking at it, and hers fits the bill. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves colorful, talented, fantasy art. I can also add this book doesn't have any nudity in it, so it wouldn't offend anyone.

Jospehine Wall has inspired me in many ways. This book was great, I saw many pictures I had never seen before and I hope she does another book soon.

While the art seems a little dated, it's a great book for dreamy little fantasy/fairy-loving girls to browse through.
