This review is from: Fantasy and Spicy stories from Robert E. Howard (Kindle Edition)
This is a collection of short stories.
I know REH wrote for pulp fiction magazines and I don't know the story behind these stories but I am pleasantly surprised to learn how versatile an author he was. I guess it makes sense though since (I think) I recall he wasn't fully appreciated during his lifetime (so that maybe he would have been challenged to write a broad spectrum of stories?). It's such an awful shame that he didn't live a long and full life. I'm just spellbound by his talent...reminded me why he's one of my all-time favorite authors. One warning: one story is brutally racially dated. Unfortunately this is the way things were back in the days when this was written.

These Spicey stories are some of Robert E. Howard's (1906-1936) best stories. If you've never read these type of stories you're in for a real treat. I highly recommend getting this Fantasy and Spice stories. They are excellent! REH is creator of Conan, Kull, Red Sonja, Solomon Kane, and many other characters.
