though i liked the frozen orange and a feather in the engine, they don't hold a candle to this. david is back to the superlatives witnessed in here come the cars and sugarmouth. not to be missed.

Another album of laid-back, somewhat psychadelic, indie-pop from this New Zealand living legend. Unlike a lot of records these days, all these songs meld together very well as a unit.
I definitely notice a Velvet Underground influence here, as well as a early 70's Rolling Stones vibe. Not nearly as bluesy, dirty, or hard - but the vibe is there. If you are previously a fan of Kilgour or his classic 70's/80's band THE CLEAN, definitely get this. If not, this is a great place to start. |
