Format: Hardcover
Professor Harvey Klehr has written many books on the subject of the Communist Party, USA and all of them are intent on supporting the hypothesis that the CPUSA was completely controlled by Moscow. This book is arguably his worst. Prepared in conjunction with the Anti-Defamation League of B'nai B'rith, Klehr provides an overview of a variety of left organizations, their leadership and their publications. The central theme of the book is that all of the political organizations he mentions are anti-Semitic because of their anti-Zionist positions. If this is your yardstick, then you might enjoy the book. Otherwise, aside from its subjective bent, this (very thin) book is horribly dated. Some of the organizations mentioned in the book no longer exist, and haven't existed for some time now. In my opinion, there's nothing here that can't be obtained better elswehere. Worth neither the time nor the money.
