This is a seriously underrated Burning Spear album, but it's my favorite of his 80's releases. Particularly enthralling is the rare Spear love song She's Mine - Oh Jill oh Jill oh Jill/ Don't mess with Jill. This song takes me back to my youth when life was sweet and simple. A pensive album with a sublime atmosphere and Spear's tearjerking wails and moans; check out Education - Mommmy mommy mommy mommy mommy mommy mommy/ Please don't beat the little children so hard. A must for true Spear fans

I was just passing through reviews of recent Spear albums to see what material by this important artist I may want to catch up with. When I noticed there was only one review of Far Over I took a look because it's a favorite Spear album of mine. The reviewer used the word "underrated." As he is the only reviewer on Amazon of this 30 year old album, I'd say he's correct in calling it "underrated." I'd also agree with the 5 stars he gave this recording. I came to love reggae (in 1981) when I saw a movie in which Spear sang a haunting rendition of "Slavery Days." The man sang a music and a message that hoped (in the context of his own religious Faith) for a future in which all people would have opportunity for fulfillment. Songs on Far Over such as "Oh, Jah," and "Jah Is My Driver" surely belong in the "Favorites" collection of any Roots Reggae lover.
