4.0 out of 5 stars Great Desk Calendar
I Love this calendar. the comics keep you laughing and the layout is good too. Each month starts with a page for the whole month at a glance opposite which is a fully lined page for notes..then each weekly page is broken down into 7 days. With more note space at the bottom. The back of the calendar has pages with sections for monthly notes for 2009, and then 3 pages...

3.0 out of 5 stars No 2008 Day To Day Calender?????
In 2005 I bought a Far Side Wall calender it was ok, in 2006 I got a day to day desk calender, it was great! I could get 365 cartoons of Far Side instead of just 12, and I could use the past days as note paper. No day to day offered for 2008, such a shame, such a shame. I would have bought a Far Side day to day every year but they lost me as a customer as I will get some...

5.0 out of 5 stars Long-time user highly recommends calendar, November 7, 2006

I've been using this since it came out a few years ago. I MUST have one every year and it ends up on my Christmas wish list. It is indispensable for me. I will be crushed when Larson eventually discontinues this book. I have used it as both a professional and a homemaker, and it works equally unless you have a lot of appointments each day. Separated into weeks, then days, there's plenty of room for listing appointments and notes. I even staple important papers into the book. My kids know where to find my "calendar book" and they are now trained to add entries so I can keep up with their busy schedules. I don't know what might happen if I lost my book.

I haven't had problems with my covers wearing off, but I also don't move it around as much as others might. They're pretty sturdy for my use.

Have I mentioned the best part? There's a different Larson cartoon for each week. He's picking the best ones in each category, and each year there is a different theme to the entire book. I'm currently closing out "Mating Rituals", the calendar of 2006.

This review is from: The Far Side ® Scared Silly: 2008 Wall Calendar (Calendar)
Cartoons inside should have been available on order site for inspection before purchase. Will not buy again unless shown (as for most other calendars). April M. of San Diego

4.0 out of 5 stars My Favorite Calendar/Appointment Keeper, February 6, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Funny and irreverent. In other words, this product is perfect for the fans of Gary Larson. The desk calendar is spiral-bound, and has a single page devoted to each month - with one blank page opposite the month - which is devoted to notes. Afterward, there are successive pages for each day/week of a particular month (one week per page) where you can make entries for individual days..ie appointments, small notes, and/or special events. At the end of the calendar, there are several pages devoted to the next year with three months on each page (title of the month, only) and space underneath each month's title for minor notes related to that particular month. Afterward, there is a calendar of the next year on a single page, for reference. The last page is for jotting names and numbers on the front/back. Laced throughout the calendar are single page, color pictures of the famous/infamous cartoons - which fans of Gary Larson's work adore. The pros of this calendar are that it is lightweight and functional. It is easy to carry around with you. On the other hand, if you have a need for detailed, complicated notes, then you had better get a Dayrunner. The cons of this product are that it needs more space for notes throughout, and although I love Gary Larson's art, I'd rather have a few of these pages devoted to notes (with all due respect to the bears, lions, and other creatures immortalized within). Also, the area for names/numbers is too small. One page, front and back is not enough space for most of us. It would be nice if the product had three or four ring binders to insert/remove pages. However, despite these criticisms, I buy this calendar/desk companion every year. For those of us with a left of center wit, there's no substitute for Gary Larson in an "Office Space" world.

This one's pretty good, but I like the day at a time better. I enjoy more than one comic a week which is what you get with this one.
