Funny, Pretty and Weird,

This review is from: Far West (Paperback)
Welcome to the Far West. It's a little like the Old West except it is full of elves, ogres, demons and other unusual beings. In the center of the tale is Meg, a female elf bounty-hunter with a big nose and a bigger attitude. At her side is Phil, a bear of unknown breed. Meg is very good at her job and is between jobs. But events after a poker game draw her into the hunt for elf bad guy Voss. She is not the only one after him, but she's the most likely to succeed. Although there's a mighty big dragon that might have a thing or two to say about it. A fun story that is beautifully drawn in black and white. I love Phil as he plays a great straight-man. By the end of the story all you want to know is "Where's volume 2?" Fans of Moore's Boneyard will find quite a different story here (although no less entertaining).

Offbeat beauty,
This review is from: Far West (Paperback)
I really admire that Moore is able to instill a sense of happiness in his characters--no one smiles like one of them! There's nothing degrading about his characters in any of his works which is really something to give us all hope in this industry. As for this story, the description is enough. You can't go wrong by adding this to your collection.

This is the first thing I've read by Moore but probably not the last. Cool twist on the western.
