5.0 out of 5 stars Best Pinball Simulation, EVER October 23, 2012
Verified Purchase
If you've ever played any of the actual, real-life tables simulated in this application, you know it doesn't get any more real or true to the original. Remarkable.

A Minor Complaint: Frequest updates result in having to reload all tables (purchased or not) and also wipe out past score data and goal achievements.

5.0 out of 5 stars THE GREATEST PINBALL APP EVER!!!! July 7, 2012
By Mike M.

Like the title of this review says, this IS the greatest pinball app. It is WELL WORTH the 99 cents it costs. You've got access to twenty eight- count 'em- TWENTY EIGHT of the best pinball tables in arcade history! (With still MORE games on the way!) Sure you have to actually BUY the others seperatly, but it is totally worth the time and money to collect them all. This app features Williams, Bally, Stern, and Gottlieb pinball tables that play just like the real ones in the arcades did right down to the last detail. It's all there, and it's freakin' sweet! My favorites are; The Machine: Bride of Pin*Bot, Fun House, Cirqus Voltaire, Monster Bash, Harley Davidson Thrid Edition, No Good Gofers, Big Shot, Twilight Zone, Attack From Mars, Genie, Cactus Canyon, and my PERSONAL favorites, Elvira and the Party Monsters, and Scared Stiff that features Elvira as the host! (ELVIRAAAA!!!! OOOOHH YEAH!!) So in closing if you grew up playing these pinball games in the arcades or if you're just a fan of pinball in general, YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WITH THIS GAME! Trust me, you WILL love it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible! July 21, 2012

In the late 70s, when I was a teenager, I was a Pinball Wizard. I certainly wasn't the "deaf, dumb, and blind kid" from the song "Pinball Wizard" by the group The Who, but I was just as good, if not better, especially since I had all my senses. After school, I worked cleaning the betting areas at Turf Paradise, a horse track in north Phoenix, Arizona. If you are from there, you know it's right on the southeast corner of 19th Ave. & Bell Rd.

Anyway, they had some excellent pinball machines in the arcade there. One of them was Harlem Globetrotters and another was Playboy. Day after day, I used to play these games, among others, for hours on end, waiting for my shifts to start. The majority of the time, I would walk in there with a couple quarters, spend a couple hours, and walk out fifty cents poorer, but with a plethora of free games racked up on two pinball machines for the other kids to play once I left. It was one of the best times of my life. I didn't know it then, but I know it now.

I have played all but two of the eight machines from this app in my past, those two being "Black Hole" and "PinBot." Of the ones I have played, I can tell you from experience that these games play EXACTLY as the real ones did. It is amazing, and as my title says, "Incredible!" I can't wait to see what machines are coming in the future.

If the creators are reading this, here are some suggestions of some of the best:

1. Harlem Globetrotters (Bally)
2. Playboy (Bally)
3. Twilight Zone (Bally)
4. Star Trek: The Next Generation (Williams)
5. Centaur (Bally)
6. The Champion Pub (Midway)
7. Creature From The Black Lagoon (Bally)
8. The Shadow (Bally/Midway)
9. The Addams Family (Bally)
10. Eight Ball Deluxe (Bally)
11.

Hands down the best pinball simulator out there. And my favorites are here too: Medieval Madness and Funhouse. Awesome! And it runs great on the Kindle Fire.

4.0 out of 5 stars First really good pinball app I've ever seen. January 24, 2013
Verified Purchase
I collect pinball's and was surprised to see a couple of my machines being simulated and done really well. A bit pricey though if you want to download complete versions. Each table is about $3-$5 and there are over a dozen. Even with buying 'packs' your looking over $70 for a complete download of all machines. $15-$20 range tops would be more in line with a non-productivity app such as this.

Really nice app, kinda pricey (only reason I dropped a star). App itself is 5 star.

5.0 out of 5 stars Real? Pinball? Good? Absolutely! July 5, 2012
Verified Purchase
Being a long time Pinball (and PinMAME) fan, learning that FarSight was releasing their successful pinball simulator on Android took me by surprise. Starting out, you do only get one table, Tales of the Arabian Nights. It is one of the best of all-time for unlimited play. You can play all of the other tables via trials (up to the lowest high score) and decide if you want to buy the tables separately or in 2-3 table bundles. The single table alone is worth the download. You can even purchase Pro versions of the tables, which grants access to the operator's menu, emulation options, Ball Control Mode and IFPA Pro tips for an extra fee.

The controls are spot on, from flippers to tilting. The sounds, dot matrix display and play fields are done remarkably well. You would be doing yourself a grand service to play with your Android device vertically to fully appreciate the table. FarSight continues to add more and more genuine tables, most recently Genie and Attack from Mars. Promises of new, phenomenal games, such as Pin-Bot, are on the way. Remarkably, the developers do not release a table and be done with it. They issue updates for improvements to physics, bugs and other issues. You just don't see that kind of support from mobile applications. If you were ever a pinball fan, then you owe it to yourself to get this. Sure, with the in-app purchases, you'll easy go over 10 bucks and growing. I'm at 50 and happily counting. However, this is one app actually more than worth the download!

For Kindle Fire owners, I do have a bit of advise: Get a memory app! Like most games on Fire that are graphically intensive, and this one is, you will need to free up unused memory. Closing unused applications is another key helper. This app absolutely works on Kindle Fire.

Where is Twilight Zone?
I have had the same concerns in the past. You can see a previous discussion from August. Amazon is slower in the review process. Being one release behind is common we were two releases behind in August. I also wish it was faster like the play store but on a plus side - at least you no longer... Read More

buy table 4 pack
You get TOTAN for the cost of Pinball Arcade. The other tables are in app purchases, and in my opinion, totally worth it. I'm not sure what "two tables" you are referring to. If you pay for the Taxi/HD DLC, you will get those two tables. I also HIGHLY recommend the Funhouse/Cirqus... Read More

I guess the squeaky wheel gets nothing....
I'll second that about moving licenses between the App Store and Google Play. I really want to play TZ on my Nexus 7, but I had already bought a few tables from the App Store on my phone. Oh well. It could be worse. You could be primarily a PS3 player, in which case you still don't even have... Read More
