5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect fit for Farberware pans
I have a number of stainless steel Farberware Classic 10" pans and this lid fits them all perfectly - including an 8-quart stockpot and a 10" frypan from an old Farberware set, as well as the 10" skillet from their current "Skillet Twin Pack" (SKU #71229). As other reviews have noted, these lids and pans are actually smaller than 10" - closer to 9 3/8" (or 24 cm). So if...

2.0 out of 5 stars Does not fit tramontina ware
Greetings, (For future customers)
This lid is actually 9 3/8" from inside to inside. Fits well inside a 10" skillet. Is usable, but not satisfactory.
Farberware should be notified.

10" lid is about 1/2 inch short, and does not stay on rim of 10" pan.

2.0 out of 5 stars did not fit my 10-in farberware skillet, October 23, 2011

I am sure this would have made a fine lid... if it fit. I have a 10-inch farberware skillet and it is quite annoying that the lid did not fit it. I ended up just buying a skillet/lid set at a store.

I got an 8-inch and a 10-inch Farberware lid for my new Anolon Bronze open frying pans (8" and 10"). The Farberware lids fit the Anolon pans perfectly and are very useful. Knob stays cool, didn't brush the lid with my hand or wrist, so the ergonomics work out very well.

The Anolon open fry pans have a splayed outer rim -- instead of an edge at the rim, they bend outward in a small arc. I was concerned that the lids (with a metal defined edge) might not fit securely or might bind or unduly scrape the nonstick surface. When I got them, for both pans, they fit comfortably with very little play, and did not bind, so I don't think they damage the nonstick surface.

Even though Anolon offers a 10-inch lid of their own, you can only buy it bundled with the 12" lid, and I didn't know if I was going to get a 12" pan, so I didn't get the bundle. And since I had to get a Farberware lid for the 8" pan, I got the matching one for the 10" pan from Farberware instead of getting the Anolon lids.

I own all Farberware pans, non-stick and traditional, some 15 years old. In fact my parents still own their original set that was a wedding gift over 40 years ago. They are still in great shape. The black has faded a bit but not one handle has broken or cracked. I purchased three sizes of these glass lids and have been using them for almost a year now. I love them. They fit just right. I dont know why so many reviews say the lids dont fit. I can only guess they are not using Farberware pots and pans. The lids are made well with thick glass. Cleans well. Mine still look brand new. It is a nice change to be able to watch the cooking.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good lid, January 21, 2008

We bought this lid after trying the Fagor lid. The Farberware lid has a slightly smaller rim by about 1/8-3/16th of an inch and it fit our cookware.

The construction of the two lids is identical with the exception of the handle. No doubt, the Fagor is probably a "factory" brand while Farberware is the name brand.

If your pan fits a 10-inch lid with a rim of about 9 1/2 inches, you should consider the Farberware lid over the Fagor. If you need a rim closer to 9 3/4, then the Fagor is probably going to be a good fit.

I have a set of Circulon Elite Hard Anodized Nonstick 8-Inch and 10-Inch Deep Skillets that I picked up last year, and have been searching local stores for glass lids to go with them without any luck. Enter the Farberware glass lids (8" and 10" versions.) They are a nice, heavy lid with a metal rim, stay-cool handle, and best of all they fit my Circulon pans as if they were made for each other.

The product did not meet our expectations at all. It did not fit a 10" frying pan -- it was less than 10" in diameter!!!
