I agree with the other reviewers: this will only produce a stream, NOT a spray, and certainly NOT a mist, of ANY KIND of oil.
It does spray if you put water in it, though. The nozzle was obviously not intended to spray anything with greater viscosity. If you need to spray water, this will probably work fine for you. BUT ... it is being marketed as an OIL sprayer, which it is not.

I've had one of these for about 10 years and I've suddenly discovered I can't live without it. I was going on vacation last week and when I was loading the car I'm pretty sure I left this this thing on the dang roof! Everyone else seems all pissed off because it doesn't create a fine mist. Well it still gives a pretty sweet spritz and unlike misters you can fill it up all the way (misters are only supposed to be half filled to create pressure). When I'm flying by the seat of my pants in the kitchen I don't want to be constantly stopping to refill the oil and I don't want to have to put down the spatula to pump it it up for pressure either. Those fine mists you covet will certainly cover your food well but they will also cover your stove and your walls. This spritzer may not be the fancy-pants techno-magic product of oil delivery but you don't have to fuss with it as much, it will last much longer because there are no seals to wear out, it's less messy, and it gets the job done!

I bought this because all of the other oil sprayers were not rated very well and Farberware has a good reputation and they call the spray "professional".
The product is well made, easy to store because it is thin, easy to clean - stainless, and I don't have experience if the spray nozzle will get stuck or what to do if that happens. I don't have experience because I don't use this product. I wanted a mist spray for frying pans and other surfaces. The spray is a stream. If you can live with the stream, then it gets 5 stars.
