Perfect First Cookware Set, December 14, 2005
This review is from: Farberware Accents 15-Piece Cookware Set, Red (Kitchen)
My young daughter and her family have been getting by using my 7-year old Farberware set for the last 2 years and this year she asked me for some new pots and pans for Christmas. "They don't have to be expensive Mom, but mine have had it". My thought was this new set would last her at least until she gets over her "red" phase. The quality is much better than I expected for the price. She will love the straining size of the holes on the glass lids; they are small enough so spagetti won't slip through and pea-sized bits won't get stuck in the holes. The silicone accents are a cool touch in the absence of an uncool potholder. The bolted handles on the lids adds a professional detail and the paint finish is actually a nice, rich "tomato" red which will compliment her Dansk "Bing Cherry" dish pattern. The standard teflon coating will be adequate for her use and it appears to be the same type as my old set but they lasted a long time. I know she will be so thrilled with this set, she will actually want to learn to cook. And she may not get over her "red" phase for another few years!

nice pans!!, January 20, 2006
This review is from: Farberware Accents 15-Piece Cookware Set, Red (Kitchen)
I ordered this set because i was due for some new ones, and since re-decorating my kitchen i wanted red ones to finsih off that country feel i was going with. i love the pans, mine came fast, inperfect condition and after using them now for a few weeks, im impressed so far. the strainer lids are great, even thou you have to hold the lid in place yourself, thats ok, because they strain so well, its elimnated need for a strainer pan(1 less then to wash!) the fry pan is nice and deep, we are a family of 5, and this fits the bill. the glass lids are so nice, you can see the food cooking without removing lid and wasting cooking heat, BUT!!!(good thing) the lids really insulate the heat in, even with strainer holes, ive found after i reach a boil, i need to really turn the temp down(electric stove here) i boil potaotes, and keep lid on, i had to bring boil temp all way down to lowest temp and still boiled. but to me with electric cost, this is a plus, takes less time to cook and lower temp is cheaper. also, my husband comes in to supper sometimes late, thats ok now, the lids and pans really hold in the heat, the food stays very warm for awhile after heat is off...watch the lids thou, when taking off to serve, the lids stay hot for long while, so be carefull what you place lid on to cool off!! the smaller pots are good, thou i would rather have had a small "egg" fry pan verses the little medium pot, i dont use this pot, but need the small egg fry pan. but, thou its bad for tephlon, i admit i use a wire wisk for gravy and i do it gently, this pan is thick coated, i havent left a mark at all!! so all in all, i give this set a big A!!would be a A plus if incuded a tiny fry pan..lol. the free utensils are so so, i have this brand of utensils in black, and the free set wasnt the same, which was disapointment, they are kinda flimsy, but they are free, and work decent enough.

Red!!!!, March 23, 2006
This review is from: Farberware Accents 15-Piece Cookware Set, Red (Kitchen)
I was low on cookware and saw the red pots and pans and had to have them. They do exactly what they say they do. And for once my pasta doesn't stick to the bottom.
