Just wanted to try a less expensive ceramic to supplement my favorite, most often used Kyocera 5 1/2" santoku - this was just ok, not BAD you understand, but just not NEARLY as good - just doesn't cut as effortlessly through everything. It's more awkwardly shaped for lots of chopping too, better for a quick/small task than an hour long project.

These are OK for the price. I own and tried many types of relatively cheap (from $15 to $60) ceramic knives made in China. From my experience they are all equally fragile, but expensive ones are sharper (which is not always what you need). So go with your goals. Ceramic knives are great for vegetables and fruit because using them doesn't affect the taste. Short knives are less fragile and last longer.

this knife is great for chopping vegetables and fruit. It holds its edge, is sharper than stainless and is easy to keep clean since it does not rust like nonstainless steel.

The five inch knife we got here was as dull as any old kitchen knife. Total disappointment. The three inch knife is very very sharp, and we wanted one with a longer blade. This Farberware ceramic 5 inch utility knife is no good, if you need a real sharp knife.

I only eat fruits and vegetables, so I REALLY use my knives a lot. This was a big disappointment and now I have to buy myself a Kyocera knife, which I love. I dropped my first Kyocera and broke it but actually still use it to cut small things (that's how good it is). This Farberware is fine for hard foods if that's what you're cooking but it also doesn't have a sharp tip so be aware of that.

Sharp, easy to handle, and well made. Cuts everything easily with very little effort. I intend to purchase a larger knife in this brand.

So far holding up nice. I still am uncertain as to how well it will resist chipping and am limiting its use to fruit and vegetables.
