Contouring to the hand, the U-shaped phenolic handle resists heating for a comfortable grip. A circular spout-cover, made of the same material, easily flips open to cease the whistle and begin pouring. Interior access provided by a wide top opening simplifies cleaning. The kettle base features a flat surface to promote rapid heating. This kettle is dishwasher-safe but the surface may dull over time due to harsh soaps; hand washing is recommended for best results. This is exactly what I wanted and for a fraction of the cost at the stores. It whistles loud enough for me to hear in another room and is very attractive sitting on the stove. The only thing to remember is not to leave it near something you are frying because it spatters on the outside.

This is great!!! It not only looks fabulous...but works just as well! Cleans very easily and has a pleasant whistle, not a shriek. Would definately recommend.

My wife enjoys this teapot a lot. It is not too heavy to pick up with water in it. Whistle works fine. Received in a timely manner. Best yet--NO LEAKS!!!
