Great Value,

This review is from: Farberware Classic Series 12-Quart Stainless-Steel Stockpot with Lid (Kitchen)
We bought both the 12 and 16 quart pots. We couldn't be happier. We have a large family and these sizes are great for pasta, sauce, corn, chili, BBQ...you name it. They are very sturdy, and the bottom is perfectly flat...something we need because we have a ceramic cooktop. They heat evenly and food doesn't stick. We were looking at pots that cost considerably more, but I'm glad we make the choice we did.

Great quality,

I was a bit hesitant to buy this because I never thought very highly about the Farberware brand name (always thought it was a cheap copy of and inferior to All-Clad, Kitchen-Aid, etc.). But the price was too good to pass up, so I took a chance. I'm happy I did because I use this pot all the time now. It has a very thick, heavy core on the bottom, which (pleasantly) surprised me. It's kept its sheen and good looks through many cleanings (though it's too big to fit in a dishwasher unless you have one without the arm that sticks up in the middle). Food sticking has not been an issue. I highly recommend this for someone who needs a big high-quality stockpot but doesn't want to pay All-Clad prices.

Farberware Classic Series cookware is superior to most cookware. I highly recommend this cookware because you don't have to worry about a sauce or food sticking if properly used. This cookware conducts heat beautifully, which causes the food to cook evenly. It's design is also durable and beautiful. I love to cook and I have enjoyed my Farberware cookware for years. This is a product both my husband and I highly recommend.

This pot works nicely ... heats evenly and cleans well.I would have given it a 5, but I would be happier if it had a vent/adjustable opening to allow steam to vent somewhat without boiling over. The lid fits with a very slight bit of room, so steam comes out the edges. This is not preferred since it's easy to get burned even when using the handles if there is a large amount of steam.

This pot is quite beautiful when it comes out of the box. The handles on the sides and lid are particularly elegant. But you buy it for the cooking and it is excellent at that. We've burnt a lot of chile over the years, but not since getting this pot.
One word of advice: I got this thinking it was plenty big for a party's worth of chile. It is not (at least not for a party of 30 or more). Though it might seem crazy, consider getting the 16 quart version if you're going to be entertaining on a large scale.

It's heavy duty so when I use it for canning I don't get my jelly or tomatoes burnt on the bottom of the pot.

This is an excellent quality stockpot and a great size for average home use. I have always liked this line in Faberware. As a retired restaurant owner and cook, this is an excellent value.

Love This Pot!,

This is a heavy-duty pot which is perfect for cooking for my family of six. The lid and pot handles are metal, but they stay surprisingly cool. After cooking soup, I can lift the pot without potholders. Prior to this, I had a Circulon stock pot. The non-stick coating wore off too fast! This pot is actually easier to clean, because I don't have too worry about damaging the surface. The bottom distributes heat evenly to avoid hot spots and burnt food.

I researched stock pots for a while, and based on the reviews here decided on this Farberware stock pot. After using it one time to make stock, I noticed that the top layer of the inside bottom of the pan was spotty. On closer inspection it appeared that the surface metal had come off in patches (into my stock!). I returned this pan and ordered a replacement. However, the second pan did the same (not as bad though) and so that is being returned too. I'll continue me research and choose a different manufacturer. I'm very grateful that Amazon will take returns and their process is so easy.

pretty decent stockpot,
This review is from: Farberware Classic Series 12-Quart Stainless-Steel Stockpot with Lid (Kitchen)
I've used the 12-quart Farberware stainless-steel stockpot twice so far. It's a pretty nice heavy-duty pot, but they could improve on a couple of things. First, the handles should be bolted onto the pot (or part of the mold of the pot), but instead they're just soldered on, which doesn't make them look very durable. Also, the pot is an attractive shiny silver color, but already the metal inside the pot is stained brown (from cooking beef soup). And you can't scrub the pot with anything abrasive because scratches will show up. Last, even though the pot has a pretty thick layer of metal on the bottom, and even keeping the flame low, after many hours of simmering, the pot ends up with a little bit of food burned and stuck to the bottom. So, nothing too serious, but little things that could be better. All in all, it's a decent pot.
