Wow! This has got to be the deal of the century, and not only that, these pans will last you almost that long! My mother has had a set for 35 years, and I've had mine for 5. Nearly indestructible, dishwasher safe, good performers on the stovetop, with stay-cool handles! They even look great after all those years! The main issue with the old Farberware was that food could stick to it, so with this set they've included non-stick pans. This has to be about the perfect starter set for anybody -- extremely easy to use even for cooking dummies (which I was when I bought my first set). I mean, how often do you buy a gift knowing that it will still be around 20, 30, 40 years from now? That amounts to about 1 cent per day for the whole set!
By the way, if they do break down, they come with a Lifetime Warranty.

Keep in mind that because they are mostly stainless steel, with an aluminum bottom, they do not heat up quite as fast as, say, hard-anodized aluminum such as Calphalon, which gourmets prefer. Stainless steel is a poor heat conductor, while aluminum is good and copper is the best.

While I am sure this is a fine set, I was not prepared when I opened box to see that the saucepans and stockpot do not have the non-stick surface. The on-line description of the set provided does detail that fact but you might not read it carefully enough to really pick up on it. The on-line picture shows the saucepans with their lids on (so you can't see the inside)while the frying pans clearly show their black non-stick surface. Anyway, just be aware that you may not be getting what you think you are.

The Farberware Classic 8-Piece Cookware Set is outstanding. I purchased my first set of Farberware (Classic)about 27 years ago. One of the knobs came off 2 weeks ago. I saw this set and decided to add to my 1st set. This one has a 6QT. pot which my first set didn't have. Also good non-stick(frying Pans)were not around back then. I didn't expect this set to be as heavy as it is. IT IS SIMPLEY FIRST CLASS! This price is not to be believed. I wish I needed ANOTHER SET!:) Pamper yourself...BUY IT. You won't be sorry.

I purchased this item during Amazon's Friday Sale...The sizes of those pots and pans are very good for my kitchen useage. They are dish washer safe and that's the main reason I bought them. The pots are deep enough for you to cook.

The handling bar may be the weakest part of the pot. Mine is kind of loose on one of them.

We bought the set one year ago that did not include the non-stick frying pans, so we have no experience with those items. We were looking for a dishwasher-safe cookware set. This stainless cookware looks beautiful out of the dishwasher, except for the interior bottoms of the uncoated pots and pans. They scorch easily, which means frequent hand-washing with a scrubbing pad. Be aware that the non-stick frying pans are polished aluminum (not stainless steel) and will quickly discolor when washed in a dishwasher.

Otherwise, this is a nice set of cookware. It just required more effort to clean than we wanted.

I have been using these products for years, some left over from my parents, and I have always been very satisfied with their performance. They have held up amazingly well and still look new. This 8-piece set is an incredible value and I would recommend Farberware cookware to anyone. Farberware is easily as high quality as its much "pricier" competitors.

Attention Bachelors: You need these pots! They are dishwasher safe guys. Don't have to soak them, just shove them in the
dishwasher. You can't beat the price, and if you ever do have to cook they do just fine.

I have had a set of Farberware in use in my home kitchen for more than 30 years - it looks as good now as it did new, it performs beautifully, cleans well and the company has continued to make the set available so that I have been able to add new pieces as I wanted them. Farberware also kept up with the interest in cooking that is prevalent and has added specialty pots and pans as a result. I highly recommend their products and also use their electric griddle, wok and fry pan as well as a large party sized coffee maker. I've never been dissatisfied with any of the products I own and use.

I purchased some Farberware pots and pans over 40 years ago. I needed to buy some for a second home and went with Farberware again. I am very pleased with the pans. I think the construction of the pan bottoms is better then it used to be and the lids are lighter in weight. That is the only difference I noticed. I hope to keep these 40 years as well! The non-scratch surface on the frying pans do scratch. It is hard to care for things when more then one person uses them. I think I like the non-Tefflon surfaces better.
