5.0 out of 5 stars I've used mine a million times, November 17, 2001

A kitchen essential. I've had mine for years and it's still going strong. This line is almost indestructible and can go in the dishwasher too. I've even burned the bottom of mine (my fault, not the pan's) to almost the point where most people would just throw it out, and it cleaned up great with some Cameo cleanser. Also looks nice and shiny and a classic look that never goes out of style. Lid fits nice and tightly, perfect for making a grilled cheese sandwich or some other little item that you don't want to haul out the big frying pan for. Good buy for the money.

I'll take the liberty of reviewing this pan even though it's my wife that uses it most. She has had an old 10-inch Farberware pan for about 20 years and it has performed pretty well. It has the exposed aluminum cladding on the bottom. This new one has a stainless steel cap over the aluminum and it sure adds to the feel of quality. It slides around on the burner easier and doesn't mark up the sink as bad. The new 8-inch feels heavier that the old 10-inch. Our only complaint about the old pan is that the handle tends to loosen as you use it. We'll see if that is still a problem. There aren't many reasonably priced frying pans without non-stick coatings. The Farberware Classic is a welcome exception.

This pan looks nice and is of good quality. It cleans up well with quite a bit of scrubbing. It is not non-stick.
