works but cheap construction, June 2, 2003
This review is from: Farberware Classic 1-1/2-Quart Mendecino Stainless-Steel Teakettle (Kitchen)
The advantages of this teakettle:
* The water heats very quickly, much better than any LeCreuset item
* It does _not_ have a whistle
* The handle is plastic so doesn't get hot-to-the-touch
* The glass cover is nifty 'cause you can see when your tea is done
* No residual aftertaste due to its stainless steel construction
The disadvantages:
* It leaks if you don't pour fast enough
* Because of the thin steel construction, the spout gets heated and, when pouring, water sputters all over the place
* Although we haven't dropped it yet, the thin construction seems vulnerable and would probably render it useless if it were dropped
Overall, I am happy with this product.
