Great Set,

This is a great set of quality cookware that contains only pieces you will use on a daily basis. There are no pieces that will find their way to the back of the cabinet, never to emerge again. These pots cook very evenly, and are easy to clean. The finish is great, and all pieces are dishwasher safe. They are beautiful and can be hung from a pot rack. The locking straining lid on the 8-quart stockpot is wonderful for easily draining liquids, because you do not have to hold the lid on. The 2-quart pot also has a handy straining lid; you have to hold that lid on but the pot is not heavy so it is easy to do.
The one complaint I have is that I wish the set had included a regular 10" lid to use with the stockpot and skillet, and not just the straining lid. Most people will probably want to buy a lid separately, especially if you plan to use the stockpot for more than cooking pasta (I use it for soup and stews as well as pasta). You may also find youself buying other specialized pieces, but this is a great set with which to start. Farberware did another super job with this one.

I finally broke down and purchased my first set of "real" cookware. I researched, debated, and obtained opinions from others. Stainless steel appeard to be the way to go, but I was concerned with stepping away from non-stick cookware, even though I've never been happy with any non-stick I've owned because it never lasted as long as I thought it should. This Farberware set is simply the best. It looks great on my pot rack AND it is so easy to take care of. All you need is one of those green scouring pads and it cleans up effortlessly. While you can get cheaper cookware, I don't believe you will ever find a set that will hold up like this, be this easy to clean, look this great in your kitchen and won't cost you a fortune.

They cook evenly and clean easily. The skillit sticks more than a non stick does, but I rub olive oil over the surface with a paper towel and it is workable.

My parents bought this set back in 1972 when they got marrried. With the exception of a few broken handles that are easily replaced, these pots are still in top-notch condition. Teflon is easier to clean if something bad happend, like burned food on the inside. However,a brillo pad will take care of this and your pots will be as good as new for many years to come. My parents bought a second set to increase the number of pots they have and I bought a set myself. I add to it here and there with the matching pots, pans, & steamer. Great set for a lifetime of use. Oly suggestion I have to to buy the matching non-coated pans, since the ones provided are coated. Also, you might want to eeventually pick up a few stainless steel untensils, since they work better, last longer, and can be used on this stainless-steel cookware.
