Perfect! This is of course good to warm butter or make a little bitty sauce - but who does that every day? We use it to heat the cream for our coffee, reheat the cold tea or soup, and make real hot chocolate last thing at night. Good balance on the stove and cleans up easy. Cute too!

I have two of these Warmers and use them for much more than butter - especially around the holidays. They are heavy duty, which you don't see by the pciture, and are also great for melting chocolate, cheese, scalding milk, and much more. If you need a smaller pan for cooking project, I stongly recommend this one!!

The size of this little pan is exactly the size I was looking for. But, unfortunately, it looks like it's a "second" because the bottom, on the inside, has a lot of tiny bumps. All of my cookware is stainless steel and not one pot or pan has ever had anything like this. I returned it and requested a replacement, in the hopes that I had just gotten a defective pan. Amazon had the replacement in my hands within two days. The quality of the new pan is not much better than the first one.

Note:
The actual dimensions differ from the two sets of dimensions given under Product Features and Product Details.
The actual size is ---
9 inches (from the handle tip to, and inclusive of, the pan)
3 ½ inches (Height)
4 inches (diameter not inclusive of the spout - add ¼ inch for the pouring spout.)
*Because of its bell shape, the portion of the pan that will actually sit on the range measures 3 inches across.

And of the four pictures shown, only two of them are of this pan. The close ups showing the bottom and side views are NOT of this pan.

I bought this pot in desperation, looking for something smaller than a 1-quart saucepan to cook small portions in. I was a bit skeptical since it's supposedly a butter warmer and has a funky shape, but it is perfect.

This is a very heavy and sturdy pot. I thought it would be delicate because it is small, but it has a very thick and heavy bottom that keeps it well-balanced on the stove. The sides are as thick as any other saucepan I have.

It is perfect to cook a small portion of frozen vegetables, soup or leftovers in. I use it every day for these things and have never once melted butter in it! I only wish it came with a lid.

I have mixed feelings on this item so will break it down into what I like and what I don't like.

What I like:

It's the perfect size for melting butter, dipping sauces, and even melting a small amount of cheese.

It's good quality and I would consider it to be heavy duty.

I have no worries about putting it in my dishwasher as it's good quality stainless and the handle is firmly attached.

The spout makes it really easy to pour the liquids into a serving container without making a mess.

It doesn't take up much space in our cabinet.

What I don't like:

The size and shape make it fairly difficult to hand wash.

The size of the pan is difficult on some stoves. We have a smaller gas stove and it wobbles on the burners. It's also difficult even with the flames turned way down to get the flames under the pan rather than just around the pan. If not for this I'd given it a much higher rating, but you want the flames under the pot, not around the sides. If on an electric stove, or flat top range it'd probably be perfect, but if you have a gas stove be aware of this.

Pan is great quality and a great size. Not too small, but large enough to mix up a packet of gravy mix or 2 cups of water. Thinking about buying another one. Very stable on my gas range, stay cool handle.

I use this pot for one thing only, making Greek coffee. Its the perfect size for two people to have small (demitasse) cups. Greek coffee is pulverized and extremely fine. You put the coffee, sugar (if desired), and water in the pot then bring it to a boil where the water/coffee mixtures foams up. Remove the pot from the heat, let it go back down, and then repeat and serve. Yes, there will be a "coffee sludge" on the bottom of your cup - but that's how its done. A lot of the Greek coffee pots (briki) you find in the specialty stores are rather poor in construction as compared to this pot. This pot with a can of Greek coffee - which is actually still sold in one-pound cans (Venizelos) - makes an excellent and thoughtful gift.
