5.0 out of 5 stars AS GOOD AS HAVING A FAIRY MAKING YOUR COFFEE FOR YOU IN THE MORNING!
I've had my Farberware Programmable Coffeemaker (white) for four years now, never had a problem with it. I love waking up in the morning to freshly brewed coffee that I didn't have the time to prepare at that moment! I just have to get up and DRINK IT! The programming is simple, much like a digital alarm clock, except select AUTO before you go to bed at night to turn...

2.0 out of 5 stars Cheap. Flimsy. Hard to use. Hard to clean.
If you like flimsy plastic, a filter basket that's difficult to insert and a door that won't close easily, then this is the coffee maker for you!

If you like flimsy plastic, a filter basket that's difficult to insert and a door that won't close easily, then this is the coffee maker for you!

First off, this coffee maker is made from such a soft plastic you think it would melt. After about six weeks of use mine has not melted, but the soft plastic leads to a couple of problems. First, the filter basket must be coaxed into the holder or the door won't close properly. Second, to make the door close properly, you have to pull it out of shape.

Also, cleaning is difficult. The little lid on the carafe does not come off, so you can't turn it upside down to drain after you wash it, and the the hole in the top of the carafe is too small to get your hand in (and out) easily.

I bought this one because I liked the way it looked. Had I seen it in person, I would not have purchased it. Maybe I'm just too picky and was used to my Mr. Coffee that lasted several years.

5.0 out of 5 stars AS GOOD AS HAVING A FAIRY MAKING YOUR COFFEE FOR YOU IN THE MORNING!, August 10, 2006
I've had my Farberware Programmable Coffeemaker (white) for four years now, never had a problem with it. I love waking up in the morning to freshly brewed coffee that I didn't have the time to prepare at that moment! I just have to get up and DRINK IT! The programming is simple, much like a digital alarm clock, except select AUTO before you go to bed at night to turn on in the morning. This coffee pot will keep coffee hot all day, unless I drink it before then. Note: It only automatically turns itself off if you select automatic, not just the on switch to manually begin coffee brewing. It does a good job of filtering with either paper liners or I bought the gold metal reusable filter that works just fine. This coffee maker has an awesome feature, if you just started brewing coffee and you can't resist or wait for the entire pot to finish brewing, you can pull the coffee pot out and pour a cup of coffee while the brewing stops until you replace the pot, but caution...don't wait too long, the brew basket might over flow! With respect to the review that says it's difficult to clean, I carefully wipe the unit clean with a damp sponge after usage, but to be totally honest..I don't mind that the water reservoir doesn't come completely out to clean because I'd probably never pull it out and clean it anyway, there's not enough minutes in the day. I would definitely buy another one of this brand, but I hope the one I have last another 4-5 years, and then I'll think about retiring it, maybe using it as a secondary coffee maker for somewhere else in the house, like in the guest room? We'll see.

ABSOLUTELY RECOMMENDED!
