5.0 out of 5 stars Dependable, easy to clean
Cleans up easily even without Teflon. I have used my Farberware Stainless Steel skillet on average twice a week for fourteen years without a hitch. It was a gift that has long outlived my expectations. You can make a really good potroast by first browning onions and beef or pork roast on all sides with temp set at 350, then turn down to between 175 and 200, add 1-1/2...

2.0 out of 5 stars very disappointing
The Farberware electric skillet doesn't heat reliably or evenly and the design of the controls makes it hard to read the temperature. I have to keep turning the temperature setting higher and higher to get it to heat, making the lower temperature settings useless. There is also an unpleasant smell that the skillet produces when it is on (no, it is not coming from the...

Cleans up easily even without Teflon. I have used my Farberware Stainless Steel skillet on average twice a week for fourteen years without a hitch. It was a gift that has long outlived my expectations. You can make a really good potroast by first browning onions and beef or pork roast on all sides with temp set at 350, then turn down to between 175 and 200, add 1-1/2 cups water and a bayleaf, top with cover, and wait four hours. Tender meat falls apart. Sometimes I check and add a little more water so there's always about 1/2" or more in bottom. THat liquid makes world-class gravy, too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best electric frying pan available, December 12, 2005
This review is from: Farberware FSS330A 12 Inch Stainless Steel Skillet
I'm known for making world class Latkes (potato pancakes) and I think a lot of the credit goes to this baby for it's nearly perfect even heat across the whole surface of the pan. I recommend this to everyone I know. My mother has one that is at least 25 years old. (I learned to make latkes from her, and she says mine are better.) It's also the tool for making fried chicken.

Glad to see Farberware is still making these! They are wonderful to use (big, keep temp constant, have lid) and clean very easily. A favorite gift!

The only problem we had with this order was with UPS. The driver totally dropped the ball - said he had attempted delivery after 9PM (not so!). It took much too long for the recipient to receive this gift!

4.0 out of 5 stars Fry Pan, February 25, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Farberware FSS330A 12 Inch Stainless Steel Skillet
The Farberware Stainless Steel Skillet is the greatest fry pan I've used in a long time. It fries up Fried Chicken to a chrisp and great taste. So much better than teflon which won't chrisp up what you fry like this fry pan will. Easy to clean and mantain.

The Farberware electric skillet doesn't heat reliably or evenly and the design of the controls makes it hard to read the temperature. I have to keep turning the temperature setting higher and higher to get it to heat, making the lower temperature settings useless. There is also an unpleasant smell that the skillet produces when it is on (no, it is not coming from the food I'm trying to cook). The bottom of the stainless steel pan is etched with a lot of circular lines which makes it harder to clean than smooth-bottom stainless pans. I don't like the way it sits up on high legs--seems unstable.

1.0 out of 5 stars Beware - Cord Contains Lead, August 2, 2007
By
This review is from: Farberware FSS330A 12 Inch Stainless Steel Skillet
I just purchased two of these as gifts for families with small children. The cord says "contains lead. wash your hands after use". There is no way I would use this "Made In China" product because cords warm when used and what does this do to the lead. Just use caution if this is a concern otherwise the product seems very good for the few moments I had it out of its box.
