5.0 out of 5 stars Lightweight, Excellent heat distribution, Easy clean-up
I'm thoroughly impressed by this set of inexpensive skillets: each of the three are the right size for my use: Small skillet for nice round pancakes, larger skillet for general stir-fry, the griddle for bacon, eggs and toasting bread (with more than enough real-estate to cook two of three at the same time - could have crammed in the bacon but that releases too much fat)...

2.0 out of 5 stars Farber ware cooking set
I only used the frying pan like maybe 5 times, and it has already started to rust, and pieces have chipped off the pan. I certainly won't recommend this product to anyone else.

The best part about this entire set is that it cleans up so well - i'm coming from some lousy Tefal (remember when they were actually a premium brand with good quality? those times have long gone) which stained really badly, not to mention the nonstick flaking off after a couple uses. I've even tried some of the el-cheapo calphalons (another premium brand going downhill) from amazon and they chip and wear fast right out of the box.

I'm now a convert to farberwear - they are inexpensive and has really held up to the test of time (this is in reference to my stainless-steel set I purchased right after college 10 years ago - they're still going strong and is testament to their quality even if they don't have the name or pricing to show for it).

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Skillets for a Beginner., August 6, 2006

Please note firstly: if you are buying cookware for an entire family, this set is NOT for you. If you are an individual, this set will work.

Farberware's Nonstick series is a great introduction to cooking. If you're not willing to spend the bucks on stainless steel, copper or Cephalon, this is where to go. Personally, I move around a lot and, while I want decent cookware, I'm not willing to buy a complete set until I'm completely settled down. The nonstick coating works really well, ensuring a far more satisfactory meal, given you can use less oils and/or butter, and it's very easy to clean up.

Some cooking suggestions if you buy this set or something similar along this line: do not set your temperatures higher than "medium high," try to use olive oils in lieu of vegetable oils, and never rinse the pan immediately after cooking--let it cool down first. If you do all of this, you won't have the normal problems people on Amazon complain about, with regards to this line (not necessarily this particular set) of Farberware products.

The only issues I have about this particular set is the packaging and the skillet sizes. The set is designed to hang in a store and isn't in a box, so all Amazon can do is place it in a box with some of it's packaged air to protect it. But there's nothing to protect the cookware from bumping against each other during shipment, so you might find a scratch or two which isn't a huge deal, but ceraintly not optimum. I also wish that instead of an 8" and a 9" skillet, there was a 10" and 12". As per referenced above, this set is for individual cooking. And even then, the skillets are too small some of the time.

5.0 out of 5 stars great pans for the price, August 22, 2006

these are very lightweight but a good deal for the price. would not use high heat when using these. they look nice and are easy to handle. i am older and appreciate the light weight. if you want something for heavy use and a big family, you dont want these unless you want them for small jobs. would buy them again for the price.

4.0 out of 5 stars not the old-fashion teflon, July 7, 2006
This review is from: Farberware Generations Triple Pack, Silver (Kitchen)
I was leery in the beginning, but the 11-inch griddle works great when making omelets, not much oil is needed and to my surprise, no sticking! The other 2 skillets, 8-inch & 9-inch, were a bit small, wish they were 9 and 10-inch ones.

5.0 out of 5 stars farberware set, November 5, 2006
This review is from: Farberware Generations Triple Pack, Silver (Kitchen)
i got the 3 piece farberware frying pan and griddle set, and it is a dream. the non-stick pans are wonderful, and the griddle and frying pans heat evenly with the kind of bottoms they have, and i really love the champagne color.

I've had these pans for years now and they're still holding up strong. I scratch them and put them in the diswasher and burn things in them and they still work great!

4.0 out of 5 stars good buy, March 23, 2007

i bought these last year with a rebate making them 5 dollars and i've got to say, they work very well. they're not the greatest pans on the market but they do the jobs i need them to. the griddle pan has a good amount of surface area but watch out for the shallow edges. all in all i give these a big thumbs up for the price.
