I had the older model of this same pan (with all-metal handle) and just recently bought a new one as a replacement. The old pan lasted about 5 years, but the nonstick surface got worn eventually. It is a nice, thick-bottomed pan, very handy when cooking for one or two or if you need just to toast a handful of nuts, for example. The only reason I'm giving 4 starts instead of 5 is because I feel that the new handle is just a bit too long and cheap-looking. The old one was just perfect.

A very good pan for non-stick purposes. You have to watch the heat though. It like other non-stick pans are not rated for high heat which damages the non-stick surface. Anything over 300 degrees will ruin it. If you want to use high heat, especially in ovens than go to the Green Pans.I also found that dishwashers tend to change the properties of the non-stick surface so I would recommend washing carefully with a soft cloth by hand only. Do not use scratch pads of any type to remove left on food, just soak and clean. If all these conditions are met it will last and cook as advertised.

Great pan but the non-stick finish doesn't last forever,

Over the years, we've bought several of these. The thickness and heat transfer is great! The longevity of the finish is typical for Teflon pans.Far from perfect, but the best we've found.

I bought these pans in two sizes. I believe that they were recommended by America's Test Kitchen as a good alternative to the very expensive brands, as all coated pans fail eventually. These pans are really great....nice heavy weight....very comfortable handle......and great for cooking. I was so pleased I sent two as gifts!

Maybe the answer to Cast Iron.,

So far used only a couple of times - to sear and fry a steak.Holds heat well, relatively light weight, needs no maintainance, and no problem keeping it clean. The only concern is that while with cast iron, excessive heat is of no concern, the limits of this here pan are not yet determined. Hoping not to find out the hard way. |
