Hard-anodized aluminum is one of the best conductors of heat. It distributes heat so well that most cooking can be done on low to medium settings. Even better, a unique recessed pattern along the bottom of these pans creates tiny air pockets to enhance sautéing and browning, and aids in food release. The durable nonstick SilverStone surface means you don't have to use butter or oil to ensure easy release of foods but does require that you use only wood, plastic, or nylon utensils, avoiding sharp edges and metal that can scratch the surface.

The stainless steel lids and handles are stylish and durable. Handles are secured with patented rivets for professional strength, and lids are designed to stay cool. Pots and pans must be hand washed since harsh detergents can damage the hard-anodized material. --Emily Wolf

I've had this set for over a year and love it. The cooking is great and the pans still look like new. This is a great set to start out with that you won't out grow. One word of caution - do use oil or butter as necessary. Non-stick doesn't mean non-burn. I purchased this set, plus a bonus piece, at a lower price at Filene's during a sale.

This attractive cookware is absolutely great for cooking non or low-fat foods and NOTHING sticks! I love this set, although if you have a large family you might want to consider purchasing a larger frying pan also. It works well with the olive oil mister to promote healthy cooking with more flavor (you are not supposed to use non-stick cooking spray with non-stick cookware). Cleanup is an absolute breeze no matter what you make. A couple of downsides are that the handles get really hot, so you need to use hot pads to remove from the stove and and there are no covers to fit the frying pans -- although I believe this is typical of cookware sets.

This is an excellent set and it's remarkably cheap. I was very pleased by the quality of modern non-stick coatings (ahhhh advancing technology) and the quality of this set is great. This is definitely not a set for a professional cook or chef but it's not meant to be. This is perhaps the perfect starter cookware set or even for experienced cooks on a budget.
