Product Description

Amazon.com Review

Clad in satin-finish blue enamel and lined with durable nonstick, this moderately priced cookware is constructed of heavy-gauge aluminum to conduct heat quickly and uniformly. It also looks great in the kitchen and when brought to the table for serving. Mirror-finish, 18/10 stainless-steel handles and lids, both riveted for strength and durability, complete the contemporary look. Pot and pan handles are hollow so they stay cool on the stovetop and oven-safe to 500 degrees F. The 12-piece set consists of a 1-quart covered saucepan, a 2-quart covered saucepan, a 3-quart covered saucepan, an 8-quart covered stockpot, a 12-inch covered sauté pan, an 8-inch skillet, and a 10-inch skillet--every pot and pan a cook needs to prepare meals for a small household. Though Farberware says the cookware is dishwasher-safe, hand washing will better preserve the nonstick interiors. The cookware carries a lifetime warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

2.0 out of 5 stars Same Deborah who previously rated product with 5 Stars, November 14, 2002

I feel just awful that my review of this product probably caused others to have purchased it.What I said before was true, the day I rated it. A pair of nylons holds up better than this product. It makes no sense that a company with so much going for it would choose to lose so much for so little. The styling of all their cookware is so very attractive. This set is no exception. It's beautiful, until you look a little more closely. The non-stick material just doesn't hold up at all. If it's cared for precisely as indicated in the use and care it just comes off. I feared when I read the warranty that they never intended to stand behind it-still, it was so beautiful. That beautiful red finish however, practically rubs off. Enough said. Unless your purchasing it for STRICTLY decorative purposes, DON'T.

4.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for my needs, August 1, 2001

Just received this and cooked in it once. Exactly what I needed and hoped it would be-and at a 60 dollar savings over the competition! I own a large set of titanium cookware from Denmark for super high temperature cooking and love it for terribly serious cooking but needed a few additional pieces and easier cleanup is nice. Aside from the lovely maroon color the thing I like most about this is that the factory instructions don't pretend it's something it isn't. They tell you straight-up that this isn't intended for super hot stir frying or metal utensils. I sent some back to QVC because it didn't hold up at all like they said it would. It would have been fine if treated properly but they encouraged abuse to sell it. The lids on these are impressive. As they dry, the water beads and runs off without leaving a trail-it gives you time to dry it with a cloth without water spotting. I'm pleased that the non-stick surface doesn't have any texture to it. I think that makes it harder to clean-food gets down in those crevices. It may not be "stuck" but it's in there and difficult to remove. The lid from the 3qt. saucepan also fits the 10" skillet-that never happens! The 12" saute is just ENORMOUS! The handles do stay cool and are comfortable to use. It's all 500 degree oven safe. I do believe I'll have to treat it respectfully, no sharp cutting motions, no banging spoons on the sides, do use special utensils, same as I treated T-Fal years ago and got so many good years service from those. But again, the user instructions speak very clearly as to proper care.I think the warranty isn't as comprehensive as some. It states in several places to be dishwasher safe but the warranty stipulates no coverage for damage from the dishwasher. Truly, there is no need in subjecting it to that. They are a dream to clean. I love the sizes. Many sets don't include the 3 quart saucepan and it's the one I use most. I'm just very pleased.

1.0 out of 5 stars OK products, HORRIBLE warranty service, November 1, 2002
By
This review is from: Farberware Millennium Satin Enamel Nonstick 12-Piece Cookware Set, Steel Blue (Kitchen)
If you purchase Millennium products by Farberware do not count on getting any satisfaction if you need to use the warranty. I sent in three pieces 5 months ago for what I was told was a 6-8 week process -- I'm still waiting, and every time I call I get a different line -- they are either incompetent or lying, or both. Decent products, unacceptable customer service -- buyer beware!
