This skillet belongs to Farberware's Vintage line of cookware, but don't let the name fool you--this is not your grandmother's pan. Farberware has updated its classic design with a modern twist: a thick aluminum core for even heat distribution, surrounded by a durable 18/10 stainless-steel protector that offers an elegant sheen and defends against scratches. The nonstick surface makes for easy sautéing and cleanup. This skillet can be put in the dishwasher, but, to guarantee against dimming the exterior with harsh dishwashing detergents, you might want to wash it with a stainless-steel cleaner, or soap and a damp cloth. --Linda Dahlstrom

It heats evenly and swiftly and the sides are deep enough for a big skillet meal, but I always need a lid. None of my pan lids are big enough to fit and I can't seem to locate a matching lid. Beware! It is so big I have no where to put it! Definitely a must if you like skillet meals.

Heats quickly and evenly. Cleans up great. Handles big skillet recipies great, BUT no lid. I can't locate a lid that fits it anywhere. Its usefulness is limited without a lid that fits. I would give this product 4-5 stars if it had a lid.

Absolutely love this pan. Went to order another only to find that it's been discontinued. I use it for everything, think every kitchen should have one. No lid isn't a problem as I rarely use lids anyway.
