An epic, I loved it!,
By A Customer
This review is from: A Farewell to France (Hardcover)
It has been many years since I had the pleasure of reading this book, but the enjoyment of having done so remains. It is much more than a WWIIstory or Romance. The characters are outstanding, and the plot engaging. This is a BIG story. My mother and I have spent a lot of time in the past fifteen years or so casting the miniseries. Of course, we wouldn't really want a movie, they never are the same, are they? I wish I had a copy to re-read -- same old story, I loaned it out and never got it back...If you ever come across a copy, don't hesitate to read it. A treat that lasts and lasts...

My favorite novel of all time,

This review is from: A Farewell to France (Hardcover)
A Farewell to France has to be one of the best, romantic novels I have ever read as well as the only book I bought three times. Its one of those great stories that one can read over and over and yet still enjoy. I especially love the detail and descriptions of Paris, St. Germain de Pres and the Champagne region of France. Like the previous reviewer, I have always hoped the book would be turned into a movie. I totally recommend Farewell to France for those who enjoy historical fiction, love France, appreciate Champagne and search for passionate love stories.

This review is from: A Farewell To France (Paperback)
This book is set in France during the German occupation. I found it one of those "can't put it down" books. In fact I have reread it again a couple of times over the years. I have several other books by the same author and enjoy them just as much.
