Book Description

5 star review "Excellent Children's Story"

This is another fantastic heartwarming children's story by Samantha Foster.

The story is wonderful as well as the colorful illustrations.

Young Kathryn, 'Kaity,' always wants to please people; but growing up in the country on a farm, she didn't have very many playmates. So she would play with the animals. She would gallop like a pony, moo like a cow, and whiny like a horse.
She could even make the sheep laugh.
Kaity grew and grew and was very gifted at school making people of all ages laugh and smile.

But, a time of sadness comes too...(but don't worry, good things happen in the end!)

This is one of the better children's books I've read as I believe children will feel their emotions build and then sag. They'll learn a very great lesson of caring and kindness and how it will warm their hearts, just like Kaity. Great job, Samantha Foster!

Farm Books for Kids: Farm Girl.

Kathryn Elizabeth is a young girl growing up on a farm. She doesn’t have any playmates save for the animals who she imitates. Her talents and sense of humor wins her over many friends at school until one day when she sees a clown and becomes entranced.
Her life has changed and everyone calls her Kaity the Clown when she’s wearing her makeup while entertaining friends or visiting the local hospital.

Then one day Kaity becomes sick and the doctors do not know what to do until the local fair comes to town.

"Farm Girl" is an uplifting, joyful children's book that celebrates the wondrous power of giving. Kathryn Elizabeth herself is a simply enchanting creation that children will love and adults can relate.

Having a special person like "Kaity the Clown" in our lives helps us all feel better about who we are and what we can do to give joy and love to others. This is a very special book that’s perfect for the child in all of us.

"All you need in the world is love and laughter. That's all anybody needs. To have love in one hand and laughter in the other." August Wilson

... nice to You, too!

Kathryn Elizabeth, better know to young and old as Kaity, is a school girl growing up on a farm. She was born with the gift to play with other beings - humans or animals - and imitate them to make them happy and laugh. Everybody on the farm loves Kaity.

Her special sense of humor gets her also many friends at school. Then one day she sees a clown and her life changes. Everyone calls her Kaity the Clown when she's wearing her makeup while entertaining friends or visiting the local hospital and senior center, animal shelters and veterinaries. When Kaity is around in her clown's disguise everybody is happy, because there will be tons of laughter, also for those who don't feel so good at all.

When one day Kaity becomes sick and the doctors do not know what to do, the County fair comes to town. But our poor Kity is too ill to go. So her parents, neighbors and school friends take her to the Fair in a wheelchair. This way they return Kaity slowly to health by giving her back all the laughter and happiness that she once brought to them.

"Kaity the Clown" is a wonderful book with colourful pictures tenderly drawn to make our little ones, but also us adults happy and smile. The text is easy to understand and transmits the universal message: Be nice to the others, then the others will (hopefully) be nice to You, too.
One can always try to bring happiness and colour into the lives of the less fortunates in the world. Everyone in his own surroundings can try to change not so nice things a little bit a a time to the better.
More joy in our lives helps us all feel better about who we are and what we can do to give joy and love to others. This is a very special book that's perfect for the child in all of us.

5.0 out of 5 stars Down on the farm with Kaity April 4, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Kathryn Elizabeth Wilson is growing up on her family's farm in rural Elk Lick Valley. With no other kids nearby and an older brother who doesn't play with her, her playmates are mostly the farm's cows, horses, sheep, and pigs. She gets pretty good at imitating animal sounds, and when she starts school, she keeps the teachers and the other kids laughing. When she gets sick, it's payback time, as Kaity learns how much she's appreciated and loved by others.

It's a cute children's story, one that pre-schoolers through early elementary school will enjoy, with the simple storyline, color illustrations, and a message of caring about others.

5.0 out of 5 stars Laughter is the Magic April 4, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Samantha Foster has created a smart and well designed and illustrated little children's book KAITY THE CLOWN. As the best of children's book usually show, there is a moral to the story and it is told with gentle care and ease.

Katie lives on a farm and loves all her animals. She entertains herself by imitating the cows, the ponies, the lambs and the pigs and doesn't even mind the dirt and mishaps that go along with trying to be an animal. She is just a happy girl.

When Kaity (for some reason the spelling of her name changes) enters school her attitude and mimicking of animals makes her a joy to be around with al her many friends. At a school play Kaity is assigned the part of a clown and she discovers the joy of dressing up and putting on the makeup of a clown - a situation she shares to the joy of her friends and teachers. When Kaity is around everyone is happy.

But Kaity's good deeds don't end when school is over: on the weekends Kaity volunteers at hospitals, senior center, animal shelter and veterinary clinics, enlightening every new visit with laughter and happiness. But sadly Kaity becomes sick and when the County Fair comes round she is too ill to go. So all the neighbors and school friends take her to the Fair and return Kaity to health by bringing her the laughter and happiness that has made their lives better.

Foster's illustrations are simple, very colorful, and realistic and serve the story well. This is a fun, feel good book with a great little lesson about the importance of spreading happiness. Grady Harp, April 13

5.0 out of 5 stars Love and Laughter Can't Be Beat April 15, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is an outstanding children's book .The illustrations are beautiful. Great lessons are learned in books, especially the bedtime books. I think that this is a book that will be asked for over and over. The story tells of love and laughter and the effect it can have on both children and adults.

Kaity is a adorable child who brings love and laughter to all that know her, especially her school friends and the animals at her farm. Lots of good things to discuss with your child while reading this book. Be sure and talk to them about Kaity being sick and get their responses.

I highly recommend this book for parents and grandparents to share with the children in their lives.

More About the Author

I have imagined, weaved and wrote stories for as long as I can remember. Every child is born imaginative and although I did not know that as a child, having been a primary school teacher for many years and raising three kids has made me realize it.

As a child I had been a daydreamer, a hypothetical theorist and a wanderer. Thinking, imagining characters and creating moments came to me naturally but albeit that didn't transform into conscious writing until I grew up. As a 37 year old mother of four, today I have much more perseverance and determination that drives my passion for writing. It triggers my imagination further and the more a writer lets her thoughts take the driving seat, the better quality of art is created, I guess.

I am very much like any other mother. I love my children and have a tough time trying to manage all four and I do not really find much respite at work since there too I have plenty of kids to manage. Being amidst kids for almost my entire life, the first phase being a child myself and then the second phase being a mother, teacher, friend and guide to children, I have been able to hone more of my writing skills than what I perhaps wouldn't have been able to do otherwise. With children all around you, it is easy to marvel at the finer things of life. For them, the materials matter least and all they have are their minds and their creations, however harmonious or chaotic that might be.

As a writer, I sincerely believe that stories are all around you, dying to be told and all one needs is the keen attention to observe life, reality and emotions.
Every day is full of moments that can make people laugh, cry, to be depressed or ecstatic. For me, the job of a writer is to tell stories in a manner which can allow readers to feel, more than anything else. Intrigue, excitement, fondness or pleasure, are all outcomes of how a reader relates to a work of fiction or nonfiction. I consistently strive to incite the emotional connect between everything, be it family, work, relationships or writing.

My works are a combination of pure fiction and fiction inspired or loosely based on reality. Every writer gets inspired by something and I have a pretty interestingly challenging world around me with plenty of inspirations.
