5.0 out of 5 stars A fantastic book for the study of the german homestead!, December 16, 1998
By A Customer
We study the German heritage of our county and how many of the farms in our county were established. This book is great to show the children what is on the farm and the life of these new Americans. It was also great is showing the life of an indentured servant. Great book to have in your library!

5.0 out of 5 stars great for early American History, March 8, 2011
By
We received this book second hand. I loved it so much, I got on here to order more in the series! It is a great supplement to any early American History curriculum. It keeps my boys (ages 6 and 8) interest. It's a good one to read together. I find it refreshing to read books about "way of life". I find that my children learn and retain so much from these type of books. You can not tell by the cover, but the pages (about 30) are full of words. I like the illustrations too. All of the illustrations are pencil drawings, so they are all black and white. I uploaded some pages so you can see the style of writing and the drawings.
