Herd dog training classic
This book was recommended to me by a famous stock dog trainer. It explains the psychology of herd dogs and how to train them using their native instincts better than any other book. If you are serious about training herding dogs, this is a must read, timeless classic.

not for me
We have livestock and woods. I was hoping to train some pups we have. This book focuses on herding dogs. It did have some useful information, but the mongrels we have do not have a strong herding instinct - not really appropriate for my needs. Quite readable, a friendly tone, but geared for someone wanting to train a herding animal.
